Alton Steel Inc. is an American steel manufacturing company founded in 2003 and based in Alton, Illinois. The company specializes in producing high-quality Special Bar Quality (SBQ) steel products, including round bars, round-cornered squares, and steel coils. Alton Steel's manufacturing facilities feature a 200-ton electric arc furnace and a 14-inch rolling mill, allowing an annual steel melting capacity of up to 750,000 tons and a rolling capacity of up to 400,000 tons of steel bars. Alton Steel actively implements sustainable technologies, including a partnership with Qcells North America to install a 6.5 MW solar panel array at their facility, making it the second steel mill in the U.S. to utilize on-site solar energy.
